Leicester Residential & Nursing Care Home:
Everdale Grange

Welcome to Everdale Grange Ltd T/A Langdale House (Manor Site)

A new addition to our group of care homes is Everdale Grange Ltd, which trades as an additional site to our sister home Langdale House. Since the last acquisition, Langdale Lodge almost 10 years ago, we have gathered the necessary skills and expertise in providing a quality care and personalised living service to our residents.

We have felt the need to further spread our philosophy by adding an additional site to the Langdale Group family and began this new journey in Autumn 2017 providing support to a care home struggling with compliance and delivering the standards expected by the local authorities and the Care Quality Commission.

This was with a view of taking over the services as new providers and despite the struggles faced on different fronts, we successfully took over in March 2018 with standards being met and confidence restored within the community and indeed the home.

Our Approach to your care

We are well-established care providers and pride ourselves on delivering the highest standards of care, with a person-centred approach.

We believe quality is not a compromise but an ongoing and never-ending commitment. Through a robust staff training programme and competency frameworks, we are able to consistently meet existing compliance requirements and our own high standards.

The home has an internal audit system to monitor service levels and produces annual quality reports for the information of people who visit the home. The level of trust that we have built has been established both within and beyond our organisation by operating in an honest and transparent manner.

THE OUTDOOR AREA AT EVERDALE

The home has beautiful outdoor space including 2 court yards and ample space for service users to utilise at their own leisure. This also provides space for outside activities, particularly in the summer months. When each unit is sufficiently occupied, an activities co-ordinator will be allocated to that particular unit to facilitate individual activities.

The home also arranges external activities following a risk assessment depending on the activities planned.

Activities

Activities are scheduled on a daily basis and consist of both “one on one” and group sessions. The group activities are displayed on a white board and visible for all to see. We encourage residents at the home to get involved with both choosing and partaking in the range of activities, notably reminiscing, arts and crafts, observation of local wildlife amongst others that we offer.

Catering and food

We have a high standard when it comes to the food we serve our residents. Meals are prepared by our in-house chef, one who has demonstrated the skill and resolve to meet these high standards. A second and when needed, third choice of food is offered for all mealtimes and there are options of diabetic, gluten-free, Halal, Kosher and other specialised diets available. Drinks and snacks are served at regular intervals and on request.

Ancillary services

Ancillary services operate on a daily basis. We operate an active policy in sourcing the latest and high-quality cleaning and laundry products that offer the best results.

Do you have any questions?

How do I arrange a visit?

Langdale homes operate an open door policy, so you are welcome to pop in to our home at any time. Why not come and spend an entire day with us free of charge, that way you can really get to
see and experience living in our home first hand, meet staff, enjoy a meal and socialise with other residents.

To arrange a visit please give us a call, we’d be delighted to meet you.

Can I bring my own furniture?

We do like to encourage residents to bring their own belongings to personalise their room as much as possible, so generally the answer is yes, but it will depend on the size of the piece of furniture you would like to bring and whether it will easily fit in the room.

Do you provide a laundry and ironing facility?

Langdale care homes provide a daily on-site laundry & ironing service for all resident’s clothing, towels and bed linen etc. All personal items are labelled (by family please) and clothing is sorted and returned to resident’s rooms when laundered.

How soon can I move in?

This depends on the availability of a room in the home, understanding the cost of care and the person moving in receiving a care assessment, but we will make every effort to make this process as speedy as possible.

When can I have visitors?

Visitors wishing to visit relatives in a home can go at any time.
